Henba mochi Oharaimachi shop
The name Henba mochi allegedly comes from visitors to Ise Shrine (Ise Jingu) sending their horses back (henba) when crossing the Miya River en route to the shrine. Henba mochi is, like Akafuku mochi, a popular local rice cake confection. Wrapped inside the rice cake is strained bean paste. The confection is neatly grilled on both sides and gives off a subtly grilled flavor when eaten.
