Okage Yokocho Wakamatsuya (Ise kamaboko)
Okage Yokocho Wakamatsuya (Ise kamaboko)
Satsuma-age (deep-fried fish cake) is a delicacy you cannot go without when strolling around and eating in Okage Yokocho. It opened in 1905 in front of the historic Wakamatsuya, where there is a constant bustle of visitors seeking out this snack.
Wakamatsuya is committed to using precious rice oil extracted from rice bran in all of its deep-fried foods.
Its popularity greatly increases in the wintertime, when tourists make a beeline for Wakamatsuya to eat toasty satsuma-age hot out from the fryer.
